Telugu Rights Sold for a Whopping ₹45 Crore
According to a report by India Glitz, the Telugu theatrical rights for Coolie have been snapped up for an estimated ₹45 crore. The deal has been reportedly acquired by leading names in the Telugu film industry — Asian Suniel Narang, Suresh Babu, and Dil Raju.
Although yet to be officially signed and sealed, this massive agreement could become one of the highest-valued rights deals for any Tamil-language film in Telugu states.
Multi-Language Release with a New Hindi Title
In addition to Tamil, Coolie will be released in several other Indian languages, including Hindi. Interestingly, the Hindi version may be titled Majadoor, as revealed by a recent poster shared by Red FM India. However, an official confirmation from the filmmakers is still awaited.
Biggest Budget, Bigger Salaries
According to Pinkvilla, Coolie is being produced on a staggering budget of ₹350 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian films to date.
- Rajinikanth is reportedly receiving ₹150 crore as his acting fee — one of the highest paychecks for any actor in Indian cinema.
