Rajinikanth’s Coolie OTT Release: Have You Watched the Action Thriller Yet?

The latest Rajinikanth-starrer, Coolie, has officially started its digital streaming journey less than a month after its theatrical debut. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film is now available on Prime Video.

Viewers can access Coolie in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages across India, with availability extended to more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The story unfolds at the Visakhapatnam docks, following Deva, a former dockworker who turns vigilante after uncovering a dangerous smuggling network while investigating the mysterious death of his closest friend.

Deva’s quest evolves into a tense confrontation with the underworld, where loyalty, survival, and justice collide against the shadows of his past. The narrative tracks his relentless battle against corruption and crime while confronting personal demons.

The film features a star-studded cast including Rajinikanth, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan. Nagarjuna plays the antagonist, while Aamir Khan appears in a special cameo. Coolie opened in theaters on August 14 and earned Rs 336.2 crore in India, with a domestic nett of Rs 284.47 crore, according to Sacnilk.com. Global earnings reached Rs 514.65 crore.

This marks Rajinikanth’s 171st lead role and his first collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Produced by Sun Pictures and distributed by Pen Studios, the film released alongside War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in lead roles.

Coolie has received mixed reviews from critics. Streaming platforms including JioHotStar, Sony LIV, Zee5, and over 26 other OTT services now offer the film for audiences starting at Rs 149.
