Priya Kapur vs Karisma Kapoor’s Children: Legal Battle Over Sunjay Kapur’s ₹30,000 Crore Estate
The Delhi High Court is hearing a legal dispute between Priya Kapur and Karisma Kapoor’s children over late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s ₹30,000 crore estate. The children allege Priya forged his will, while she claims they already received assets worth ₹1,900 crore.
Priya Kapur and Karisma Kapoor’s children are locked in a legal battle over Sunjay Kapur’s ₹30,000 crore inheritance.

The inheritance dispute over late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s ₹30,000 crore estate reached the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, with his wife Priya Kapur and stepchildren, Samaira and Kiaan (from his marriage with actor Karisma Kapoor), contesting claims to his assets.
Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12 during a polo match in England. Following his death, a petition filed on behalf of his children challenged a purported will dated March 21, which bequeathed his entire personal estate to Priya Kapur. The children allege the will is forged and are seeking one-fifth share each of the estate, along with partition of assets and a permanent injunction against Priya.
Priya Kapur’s Stand
- Represented by senior advocate Rajiv Nayar, Priya argued that the suit was “not maintainable.”
- “I am his legal wife. I was his last lawfully wedded wife. Where was all this affection when divorce battles with Karisma reached the Supreme Court? Show some sympathy. I am a widow,” she told the court.
- Priya further claimed that Karisma’s children had already received ₹1,900 crore under the RK Family Trust, questioning, “How much is enough for them?”
Allegations by Karisma’s Children
Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for the petitioners, said Priya initially denied the existence of any will, only to later reveal it during a July 30 family meeting. The children allege the will was suppressed for seven weeks and accuse Priya’s associates of manipulation.
They also pointed out that the will was not registered, strengthening their suspicion of forgery.
Court’s Observations
Justice Jyoti Singh directed Priya Kapur to file a complete list of all movable and immovable assets as of June 12, and issued notices to all parties. Replies are to be filed within two weeks, with rejoinders a week later. The matter will be heard again on October 9, 2025.
