The mythological film Kannappa, led by actor Vishnu Manchu, is slated for a nationwide release on June 27. Positioned as a large-scale spiritual narrative, the film combines traditional storytelling with high production standards and a star-studded cast.
At a recent pre-release event, writer BVS Ravi disclosed that actor Prabhas will enter the film approximately fifteen minutes into the second half, contributing a total screen time of around twenty minutes. This strategic cameo by the pan-India actor has sparked widespread anticipation.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa narrates the life of a tribal hunter whose personal evolution transforms him into a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. The narrative emphasizes spiritual transformation and ultimate sacrifice through faith.
Alongside lead actor Vishnu Manchu, the cast includes Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, Akshay Kumar, and several popular personalities such as Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Kaushal Manda, Preity Mukhundhan, Madhoo, and Mukesh Rishi.
The film’s soundtrack is composed by Stephen Devassy. Costumes are designed by Ajay Kumar J., set design is managed by Chinna, and visual storytelling is led by cinematographer Sheldon Chau. Veteran actor-producer Mohan Babu serves as the producer under AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory.
Kannappa is set to release in five languages—Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
