Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’ breaks North American box office records with a USD 3.13 million premiere day collection, surpassing Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’. The Telugu film is also a hit in India, grossing Rs 70.75 crore on day one.

Pawan Kalyan's latest in turn: 'They Call Him OG' has, just like that, overtaken the North American box office premiere-day collection record of 2025, raking in USD 3.13 million, thus pushing Rajinikanth's Coolie further down the ladder.
Directed by Sujeeth, also marking the debut of Emraan Hashmi in a Telugu film alongside Pawan Kalyan, the film became the highest-grossing Telugu film of the year in North America, surpassing Venkatesh's Sankranthiki Vasthunam.
In India, the film is performing extraordinarily well, grossing Rs 70.75 crore in the first day across languages, with a whopping Rs 70 crore coming from the Telugu version alone. Out of the Rs 70.75 crore, paid premieres accounted for Rs 20.25 crore of collection on the openings day, and the film is expected to cross Rs 100 crore in the upcoming hours.
A traditionally Telugu-Hindi market, North America played a crucial hand in the stupendous opening show of the film. USD 3.13 million for the premiere day translates into the 4th biggest opening for any Telugu film, behind Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, Ram Charan and Jr NTR’s RRR, and Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 AD. By evening, a further USD 500K had been collected, almost EUR 4 million in total.
Earlier, Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie held the Tamil record in North America with USD 3.04 million, whereas Pawan Kalyan’s latest release, Hari Hara Veer Mallu, made slightly over USD 1 million.
With such a strong start, They Call Him OG is gearing to be an epic commercial hit, domestically and internationally, reaffirming Pawan Kalyan’s stardom across markets.
