They Call Him OG, featuring Pawan Kalyan, has claimed the title of the highest-grossing Telugu film in 2025 with a worldwide box office collection of more than Rs. 300 crore. The action film, directed by Sujeeth, is now accessible on Netflix in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Shooting like a rocket in theaters, the digital release has nevertheless upset some fans. A large number of fans vented their frustrations through social media when during the previous weeks, Netflix was directly asked for the uncut version or an extended version of the movie but instead, the same theatrical cut with the “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” song was given. The absence of the promoted scenes in the OTT version led to the demand for the content to be separately released on platforms such as YouTube.
Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Prakash Raj, Shreya Reddy, Arjun Das, and Neha Shetty, who features in a special song sequence, are among the cast. With the story being distributed by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari, OG was also powered by a music score that made a significant impact in bringing viewers to both theaters and online streaming and this was done by Thaman S.
The movie has been a great box-office success all along, but the conversation about its OTT version has also pointed out the growing popularity of uncut releases in the digital age. It is not clear yet if the filmmakers will cater to the audience's appeals with extra content.
