The highly awaited Telugu action crime saga They Call Him OG (OG) has finally premiered, marking the return of Pawan Kalyan to the big screen. Directed by Sujeeth, the film chronicles the comeback of retired gangster Ojas Gambheera, who re-enters the Mumbai underworld to challenge current kingpin Omi Bhau, sparking a violent turf war.
They Call Him OG released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi, giving audiences across India access to the multi-lingual blockbuster. The film features Pawan Kalyan in the lead, alongside Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj. The project also marks Hindi actor Emraan Hashmi’s Telugu debut, adding to the anticipation.
The makers chose an A certificate for the film, restricting viewing to audiences above 18 years. The runtime is 2 hours and 34 minutes, promising an intense and fast-paced narrative filled with crime, betrayals, and action sequences.
According to trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal, OG is among the costliest Telugu productions in recent years, with an estimated total budget of Rs 220 crore, including production, cast, and promotions. The film’s commercial success is expected if global earnings surpass Rs 230–250 crore across all versions.
Despite multiple release delays, OG opened to massive box office response. The movie collected approximately Rs 91 crore net in India on its first day, while worldwide earnings already exceed Rs 150 crore. Preview shows contributed Rs 20.25 crore alone, with some tickets priced up to Rs 1,000 in Andhra Pradesh.
Occupancy rates reflect strong audience interest: Telugu screenings averaged 69.35%, while Tamil accounted for 18.36%, Hindi 10.37%, and Kannada 9.19%. The figures demonstrate the film’s broad pan-Indian appeal and suggest robust performance in coming days.
As it competes with Bollywood’s Homebound, They Call Him OG is expected to dominate Telugu screens while capturing attention across India with its high-octane storyline and star-studded cast.
