A screening of Hari Hara Veera Mallu was temporarily suspended at Cineworld, West London, after a group of fans disrupted the show by throwing paper confetti inside the theatre. Staff intervened and paused the film, leading to a tense interaction between theatre authorities and the audience.

The incident occurred during one of the paid premiere screenings of the film, which stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead role and was released in theatres across multiple countries on Thursday. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film narrates the story of an outlaw who sets out on a mission to recover the Koh-i-Noor diamond from the Mughal Empire.

A video posted online shows Cineworld employees addressing the group of fans mid-show, citing violations of theatre rules. The footage shows the theatre floor covered with paper confetti, while staff explain the disruption and warn attendees against continuing the act. The conversation quickly escalated as some attendees dismissed the warning and shifted focus to unrelated complaints, including sound quality and recording videos of the interaction.

The staff informed the crowd that celebrations of this nature require prior approval and that unsanctioned disruptions would not be tolerated. One employee was heard explaining the difficulty in maintaining cleanliness following such acts, while a fan argued there was no signage outside the auditorium prohibiting the behavior.

The clip, widely circulated on social media platforms, has drawn a mixed response. While some defended the enthusiasm of fans celebrating their favourite actor, the majority criticised the disregard for rules and theatre etiquette. “It’s not your private event,” read one comment. Another noted, “Respecting public spaces is part of being a fan.”

Theatre policies in several countries, including the US, sometimes permit celebratory activities such as throwing confetti, but only with explicit permission and a clean-up responsibility. In this instance, Cineworld reiterated that the viewers failed to seek any such approval.

The film also features Nidhhi Agerwal and Bobby Deol in key roles, portraying Panchami and Aurangzeb respectively. The storyline follows Veera Mallu’s journey from Golconda to Delhi amid the backdrop of 17th-century India.
