Param Sundari First Review: Sidharth Malhotra & Janhvi Kapoor’s Film Called “Happy, Funny, Adorable”

Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s much-awaited romantic comedy Param Sundari is all set to release in theatres on Friday, August 29, 2025. Ahead of its release, the makers hosted a special screening in Mumbai on Wednesday night, which drew several personalities, including influencer Simone Khambatta.

After watching the film, Simone took to Instagram to shower praises on director Tushar Jalota’s rom-com. She wrote, “Chemistry 15/10! @Janhvikapoor has never looked better. @tusharjalota, you have created such a magical, fun, and gorgeous on-screen couple with @sidmalhotra and Janhvi. Such a happy, funny, adorable, feel-good film. Go watch it guys!!!”

She further called Param Sundari the “best rom-com,” adding that it is highly entertaining and filled with charm.

What’s the film about?

Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari tells the story of a North Indian boy and a South Indian girl navigating love, culture, and differences as their worlds collide. The film blends modern romance with Maddock Films’ signature charm and stylish visuals.

Censor Board Clearance

The movie has been given a U/A 13+ certificate. However, the censor board asked the makers to mute or replace certain words in the dialogues and subtitles. Words like bastard were swapped with idiot, while church and bloody were muted. Even the word father was muted in some contexts. With these edits, the film was cleared without visual cuts.

Release Date

Initially scheduled for a July release, the film was postponed to avoid clashing with Son of Sardaar 2. Param Sundari will now hit theatres nationwide on August 29, 2025.
