Param Sundari Box Office Collection Day 2: Sidharth Malhotra-Janhvi Kapoor starrer crosses ₹16 crore, shows strong weekend growth

Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s much-awaited romantic comedy Param Sundari continues to gain traction at the box office. The film, produced by Maddock Films and directed by Tushar Jalota, has shown steady growth on its second day, taking its total collection beyond the ₹16 crore mark.

After opening with ₹7.25 crore on Day 1 (Friday), Param Sundari picked up pace on Saturday with ₹9 crore, as per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the film’s two-day India total to ₹16.25 crore.

Audience response and occupancy

On Saturday, the film recorded an overall occupancy of 18.13% across India. It started at 9.67% in the morning and gradually rose to 25.11% during the night shows.

Delhi NCR: 1,233 shows, 18.50% occupancy

Mumbai: 946 shows, 16.25% occupancy

Bengaluru: 40.75% occupancy (293 shows)

Chennai: 36.50% occupancy (92 shows)

Comparisons and expectations

The North-meets-South rom-com has drawn comparisons with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Chennai Express (2013). Despite mixed reviews, the film is gaining momentum with youth audiences, thanks to its hit soundtrack, especially the chartbuster Pardesiya.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that the film’s opening day numbers were better than Maddock’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and credited strong spot bookings for its success. He predicted a strong weekend run, with Sunday expected to boost collections further.
