The wait is over! Amazon Prime Video has officially announced that Panchayat Season 4 will premiere on July 2, 2025. Along with the release date, the streaming platform dropped an exciting teaser on May 3, setting the stage for another season filled with village politics, humor, and drama.

What to Expect in Panchayat Season 4

Set once again in the fictional village of Phulera, the new season focuses on a tense and competitive panchayat election between Pradhan Ji (Raghubir Yadav) and Bhushan Ji (Durgesh Kumar). The teaser opens with Bhushan’s confident line — “Maza aayega,” — promising both tension and laughs.

As the political rivalry intensifies, Abhishek Tripathi, played by Jitendra Kumar, finds himself caught in the middle, with decisions that could change his future and impact Pradhan Ji's leadership. Viewers can expect a powerful blend of emotional depth, rural charm, and the signature humor the series is known for.

Teaser Highlights & Storyline

The teaser showcases glimpses of the election campaigns, quirky characters, and the deeply rooted community dynamics of Phulera. According to the official synopsis, both camps—Pradhan and Bhushan—are ready to pull out all the stops in their fight for power, using clever strategies and aggressive campaigning.

The storyline continues to explore themes of governance, responsibility, and grassroots politics, but with a touch of everyday absurdity that has become the hallmark of Panchayat.

Cast and Crew

Returning for the new season are:

Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi

Neena Gupta

Raghubir Yadav

Chandan Roy, Sunita Rajwar, Ashok Pathak, Sanvikaa, Pankaj Jha, Rajesh Jais, Biswapati Sarkar, and Aasif Khan

The series is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya, with writing by Chandan Kumar.

Behind the Scenes: Realism at the Core

Speaking at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit, director Deepak Kumar Mishra emphasized the importance of realism in the show’s storytelling. From choosing authentic rural locations to prioritizing subtle humor over slapstick, the team has remained committed to creating a genuine portrayal of life in rural India.

Interestingly, Mishra hinted at the potential for a broader "village cinematic universe" in the future—an interconnected narrative across rural settings, similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jitendra Kumar Reflects on His Journey

Jitendra Kumar shared that he wasn’t originally considered for the lead role when Panchayat was in its early concept phase, which resembled more of an office-based satire. However, deeper research redirected the narrative into rural India, giving birth to the now-iconic role of Abhishek Tripathi.

Initially uncertain whether the subtle humor would land with audiences, Jitendra credits the TVF team for encouraging him to trust the script. That trust has since paid off, making Panchayat one of the most beloved web series in India.
