The end of the year is ushered in with the third week of December and along with it a myriad of exciting OTT releases by the different streaming platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, and Jio Hotstar. The viewers have a great assortment of genres to choose from, and in case they want to binge, the options are really wide this week.
1. ‘Thamma’ – Amazon Prime Video, December 16
Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, is an addition to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe with superstar actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna playing the lead. The movie combines romance, horror, and comedy with odd super-natural twists. Although the film received mixed reviews during its theatrical run, the franchise's loyal customers are expected to hop online, thus, really supporting the movie.
2. ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5 – Netflix, December 18
The fifth season of Emily in Paris sees the titular character, Emily Cooper, heading off to Rome to take over the office at the Agence Grateau Rome. Besides that, the new season also gives a sneak peek to Venice and one can see Emily facing new challenges in a different place while still being his/her self with all the style and humor.
3. ‘Raat Akeli Hai – The Bansal Murders’ – Netflix, December 19
In this crime thriller, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is seen again as inspector Jatil Yadav. It depicts the examination of the Kanpur Bansal family's brutal killings and is titled Raat Akeli Hai – The Bansal Murders. A strong ensemble of actors including Radhika Apte, Chitrangada Singh, Rajat Kapoor, and Deepti Naval feature in the story.
4. ‘Four More Shots Please!’ Season 4 – Prime Video, December 19
The much-loved show is back with its fourth and last season. Maanvi Gagroo, Bani J, Sayani Gupta, and Kirti Kulhari's characters are going through love, career milestones, and personal growth, the only thing that remains unchanged is their friendship, which is the heart of the tale.
5. ‘Mrs Deshpande’ – JioHotstar, December 19
The series with Madhuri Dixit Nene in the lead role comes from the director Nagesh Kukunoor, who has also worked on a French show, Mrs Deshpande. A suspenseful and dramatic blend of French show ‘Mrs Deshpande’ about an apparently ordinary woman who conceals the mysterious double life.
6. ‘10Dance’ – Netflix, December 18
A Japanese drama about two dancers who are both very talented but have different personalities. The duo initially does not get along but in time they find respect and attraction towards each other through the training they do together.
7. ‘The Great Flood’ – Netflix, December 19
The viewers will know that the story takes place during a huge flood in South Korea, the film portrays the residents of a flooded apartment building who are pulled against each other trying to survive. The disaster drama portrays the human spirit and the resilience that is acutely tested in such situations.
8. ‘Fallout’ Season 2 – Prime Video, December 17
The series set in a post-apocalyptic world comes back in the form of two parts, the first of which will be available this week while the latter one will drop in February 2026. It is a hundred years after the Great War of 2077 wherein the show portrays the story of nuclear devastation leading to the fall of society and mixes up the elements of suspense and survival.
9. ‘Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua’ – Netflix, December 19
The boxing battle that has been awaited for a long time will be streamed live. Fans are excited to see the return of boxing great Joshua and the continued rise of Paul in the heavyweight arena at this Miami event.
