Connections, one of the most popular word games from The New York Times, has captured the attention of word enthusiasts everywhere. The game challenges players to find the "common threads" between words, and like Wordle, it resets every day with an increasingly difficult puzzle. What is Connections?

Connections is a daily word game that has quickly gained popularity, thanks in part to associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, who helped bring it to The New York Times Games section. The game can be played on web browsers or mobile devices and tasks players with grouping 16 words into four categories based on shared themes.

Each puzzle features 16 words, and the goal is to find four groups of four words with a common connection. The categories could include anything from book titles, software, country names, and more. Even though some words might seem to fit together, only one set of groupings is correct.

How to Play

Players must guess the correct groupings of words, and if they make a mistake, it counts against them. You get up to four mistakes before the game ends. Words are colour-coded to help you track your progress:

- Yellow is the easiest category.

- Green, followed by Blue and Purple, represent increasingly harder categories.

Additionally, you can rearrange the board to help spot the connections more easily. Like Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
