Netflix Bags Allu Arjun–Atlee Action Film for Record Price
Netflix acquires Allu Arjun–Atlee action drama with Deepika Padukone for a record price. Theatrical release date awaited.

Actor Allu Arjun has teamed up with filmmaker Atlee for a large-scale action drama tentatively titled AA22xA6. The film also features Deepika Padukone in a lead role, with Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor, and Mrunal Thakur playing key characters.
Industry sources confirmed that Netflix has purchased the digital rights of the project for a record-breaking but undisclosed amount. Executives from Netflix India reportedly met Atlee and Arjun in Hyderabad recently to close the deal. The film’s theatrical release schedule has not yet been announced.
According to those tracking the negotiations, Arjun’s reach following the massive success of Pushpa 2 was one of the central reasons behind Netflix agreeing to an unprecedented price for the streaming rights. The platform aims to leverage the actor’s nationwide and overseas following to boost its South Indian content library.
Reports indicate that the makers are considering presenting the film in two installments, though no official word has come from the production team. If confirmed, this would align with Atlee’s preference for expansive storytelling.
The film is being bankrolled by Sun Pictures. Shooting has already commenced, with Arjun completing his introductory song sequence. Post-production work is expected to be carried out in Hollywood, with several international technicians involved.
A source familiar with the project noted that the OTT deal alone has helped recover nearly half of the production budget, placing the film in a strong financial position even before its release.
This marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Atlee, who has previously delivered high-grossing films such as Jawan, Mersal, and Bigil.
