Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 to Hit Screens Dec 12, Few Overseas Shows Available

For fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu, there’s a reason to rejoice—‘Akhanda 2’ is, at last, confirmed to be released in cinemas worldwide on December 12. After a period of financial trouble which resulted in delays, the eagerly awaited film is now clearing the way and getting ready for a massive launch.

The thrill will start a day ahead, December 11 at 9 PM with paid premieres in the Telugu states where the film crew has declared that ticket bookings for the premieres will open very soon.

Struggles Overseas

In the meantime, the domestic position is bright but ‘Akhanda 2’ is still having a hard time overseas. Some theaters that were meant for the original December 5 release were given to other Hollywood movies because of the delay. This means there are not many screens for the new release date.

To counter this, the overseas distributor Moksha Movies released a statement urging fans to support:

“Akhanda 2 is a very important project for us. It was tough to get the theaters at the last moment. Yet, we have managed to book some auditoriums. We ask viewers to adjust their show times accordingly. The final list of cinemas will be given out tonight or tomorrow. There will be a glorious USA premiere on December 11 as well. Thank you for your understanding.”

Overseas difficulties notwithstanding, ‘Akhanda 2’ is one of the most awaited movies at the moment. Balakrishna's powerful acting combined with Boyapati Srinu's typical mass action is to be the film's biggest asset.
