Muzammil Ibrahim Reveals He Dated Deepika for Two Years
Muzammil Ibrahim shares he dated Deepika Padukone in her early Mumbai days. From rickshaw dates to birthday songs, he recalls memories before fame.

Actor-model Muzammil Ibrahim disclosed that he was once in a romantic relationship with Deepika Padukone. Speaking in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ibrahim stated that he dated Deepika during her initial days in Mumbai.
Muzammil claimed he and Deepika were together for two years. He said she approached him first, and he eventually ended the relationship. He described that period as a time when he was a prominent face in the industry, while Deepika was just beginning her career.
"She had the aura of someone sure of herself," Muzammil said, attributing it to her background as the daughter of badminton icon Prakash Padukone. He recounted how Deepika made the first move and how their relationship ended with his decision.
Reflecting on the shift in public recognition, Muzammil remarked, “Back then, I was known. Now, everyone knows her, not me. I admire her work and enjoy watching her performances. She's achieved a lot."
When asked about their current connection, Muzammil noted they used to communicate occasionally before Deepika’s marriage to Ranveer Singh. Post-marriage, the two lost contact.
Recalling early memories, he shared details about their modest dating days, including rickshaw rides during monsoons and how excited she was when he could finally afford a car. He also remembered her birthday, when a DJ played her favourite song repeatedly for over an hour at a club, thanks to his friendship with the DJ.
"Those memories stay with you," he said. “We were young, and despite limited means, we were truly happy.”
