The story is..
Narayana (VTV Ganesh) from Janglipatnam is crazy about his caste. Even if people from his Tutte caste have to come and inject blood from other castes, he will not accept it. He will not accept inter-caste marriages at all. Such a Narayana wants to become an MLA with the power of his caste. A prominent party even comes forward to give him a ticket. Meanwhile, Narayana's daughter Sukhdev (Niharika) runs away from home. Thinking that if this matter gets out, his reputation will be ruined, he starts a search with the help of SI Sagar (Vennela Kishore) claiming that his daughter has been kidnapped. It turns out that behind Vishnu's escape are four boys from the same area, Chaitanya (Priyadarshi), Abhay (Raag Mayur), Satvik (Vishnu O.I), and Rajiv (Prasad). Who among these four did Vishnu leave home for? What kind of difficulties did these four face because of freedom? We have to see what Narayana did to them on screen.

Buddy comedy films are getting a lot of attention in Telugu these days. A batch of friends... are trying to weave scenes with mischief, innocence, and laughter among them. Starting from 'Jathiratnalu' to the recently released 'Little Hearts', many films have achieved success with buddy comedy. These films are made with comedy that is more contextual than the story. However, 'Mitramandali' does not have that level of comedy. A fictional town, caste, enough characters, a topic suitable for social satire... This seems to have the setup needed to make you laugh. Except for one or two moments, the entire film feels like an attempt to make you laugh forcefully.
The first half was filled with scenes of Narayana, the caste-crazed Mitra Mandali gang, the heroine's escape, and other scenes. Actors known for comedy appear on the screen, delivering pages of dialogue, but there are no laughs anywhere. The second half seems a bit dull compared to the first half. Fun is found here and there with the chasing scenes and the marriage episode. Satya's comedy as an important character is a bit of a relief for the film. Even that character sometimes seems to overreact.
Who did it?
Priyadarshi, Ragmayur, Vishnu... All of them are good actors in their own right. We have seen their comedy timing in many films. But they could not make much of an impact in this one. Prasad Behera's expressions are good. Due to the timing of Satya's acting, it seems that he has done an important character. Vennela Kishore was not used properly. VTV Ganesan's role was obvious. The heroine Niharika did not make much of an impact. Brahmanandam shines in one song. Technically, the film is okay. Director Vijayender did not show much strength in writing and making.
