Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has been hospitalised after being diagnosed with severe exhaustion, prompting concern among fans and highlighting the pressures of demanding schedules in the entertainment industry.

On Tuesday during a performance, Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized in emergency. In the New York City, she fell ill during a performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway.

A team member representing the rapper shared in a statement to the Guardian on Wednesday that “on Tuesday evening, Megan was moved to a local hospital to undergo a medical evaluation after experiencing concerning symptoms.”

They also added, “Doctors ultimately identified extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels as the cause of her symptoms. Megan has since been treated, discharged and is now resting.”

The team said, “Megan is incredibly grateful for the prayers and well-wishes from her supporters and is looking forward to resuming her role as Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Thursday”.

On Wednesday, a social media post was shared, in which Megan Thee Stallion showed the incident as a “real wake-up call”.

Megan said, “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately. Running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage. I really tried to push through my performance, but I just couldn’t.”

On the point of recovery, she said, she would take a rest on Wednesday and take care of herself in the best way. In her post, she also added, “I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve. Thank you for forever riding with me and giving the love through everything.”

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is planned to get closed on 26 July. It is going to end up in a seven-year run on Broadway.
