Mawra Hocane dropped from Sanam Teri Kasam 2

Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane will not be returning for the sequel of Sanam Teri Kasam, as confirmed by directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The move follows rising tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

The filmmakers stated that the decision was driven by the current geopolitical climate and their firm belief in prioritizing national sentiment. “Nation comes first,” they said, adding that the silence of Pakistani artists working in India during critical times was troubling.

Actor Harshvardhan Rane, who starred alongside Mawra Hocane in the original film, had earlier declared that he would not be part of the sequel if the same cast was retained, reflecting a growing sentiment in parts of the industry against continuing collaborations under strained political conditions.

With the cast being reshuffled, the project is expected to move forward with a fresh lineup.
