Mandana Karimi Calls Donald Trump ‘Iran’s Liberator,’ Likens Him to Cyrus the Great
Bollywood actor Mandana Karimi has praised Donald Trump's role in Iran. She highly appreciated the wars and Ali Khamenei's death.
Actor Mandana Karimi has stirred debate online after calling Donald Trump “Iran’s liberator” and comparing him to Cyrus the Great, the founder of the ancient Persian Empire. The remark has sparked strong reactions across social media, with users divided over the controversial comparison.
Actor Mandana Karimi is a vocal critic of the Iranian government under Ali Khamenei. She highly appreciated the recent US-Israel action against Iran. They say that it could help end Tehran’s long-standing oppression. She has selected Donald Trump for praise. Moreover, she has made a comparison of the president with the renowned Persian emperor Cyrus the Great. He is valued as a rescuer in Iranian history.
Mandana was born and raised in Iran and moved to India for modelling work at the age of 20. She entered the Indian film industry. By using her Instagram account, she is supporting the protests against the current government in Iran, and directly criticising Khamenei. In a post, days after the Iranian Supreme Leader was killed in a combined US-Israel airstrike, Mandana hailed the two nations for ‘supporting’ Iran.
In her Instagram Stories, Mandana shared a post on Donald Trump and wrote alongside, “Dear Mr President, Iranian people will remember you the way Israel remembers Cyrus the Great.”
Cyrus II is called Cyrus the Great, was the ruler of Persia in the 6th century BC. He recognised what was the largest empire in the world at the time, ruling over Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa.
Well-known for his acceptance of peoples' customs and religions in the lands that he conquered, Cyrus is valued in Judaism for freeing the Jewish people from the Babylonian confinement. Mandana has equated Trump’s role in Iran with Cyrus, hailing him as a rescuer of sorts for Iran.
Mandana also added that, “For years, people inside Iran have protested with our bare hands. We have lost people. We have lost mothers, kids, universities - the list just goes on and on. No one celebrates deaths lightly.”
