Mahavatar Narsimha crosses ₹195 crore in 22 days, surpasses The Kashmir Files to emerge as the most profitable Bollywood film in modern times.

Even after three weeks in theatres, Mahavatar Narsimha is still having a phenomenal run at the Indian box office, setting new records. Now officially, the Hindi animated film is the most profitable Bollywood production of the modern era, surpassing even The Kashmir Files.
Despite new releases, Mahavatar Narsimha remains strong.
The movie has not been impacted by the fierce competition from high-profile releases like Coolie and War 2. Mahavatar Narsimha made ₹2.35 crore on August 14, the day both blockbusters were released. It saw an incredible increase of almost 196% the very next day (Day 22), bringing in ₹6.97 crore.
The movie has made ₹195.42 crore net so far in all Indian languages, which translates to ₹230.59 crore gross (GST included).
The most successful Bollywood movie in recent years
Despite having a relatively low budget of ₹15 crore, Mahavatar Narsimha has generated an impressive return on investment of ₹180.42 crore, or 1202.8%, at the Indian box office. The animated epic has now become the most profitable Bollywood film in recent memory, surpassing the record set by The Kashmir Files (1162% returns).
The Hindi version is the most popular.
The film, which has been released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, is doing remarkably well in each of these languages, but the Hindi version is doing the best. The film is on track to surpass the ₹150 crore milestone today, with its Hindi box office receipts so far standing at ₹147.02 crore net.
With Independence Day boosting its momentum and word-of-mouth driving footfalls, Mahavatar Narsimha is set to continue its golden run at the box office.
