After its theatrical release on March 28, the sequel to the 2023 film MAD is set to debut on streaming platforms later this month.
Producers have identified April 25 or April 28 as the Mad Square OTT date, pending an official announcement. Netflix, which streamed the original MAD, is expected to handle the Mad Square OTT release.
Mad Square picks up four years after the events of MAD. The story opens with Ganesh, known as "Laddu," serving time in jail. Six students visit Laddu to learn how he landed behind bars. In his account, Laddu describes a series of incidents involving a Goa trip, a broken relationship, a missing necklace and a gang leader named Maxx. The film concludes with an unexpected turn: one of the students is revealed as an IPS officer who arrests Maxx but leaves Laddu in custody.
The cast features Ram Nitin, Narne Nithiin, Sangeeth Shobhan, Vishnu Oi and Priyanka Jawalkar in lead roles. Sunil, Subhalekha Sudhakar and Satyam Rajesh appear in supporting parts.
