Malayalam cinema’s Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is going to make its digital premiere after a record-breaking theatrical run. Lead actress Kalyani Priyadarshan has helped the movie cross the Rs 300 crore mark globally, thus making it the first Malayalam film to reach this milestone.
The producing team has already announced that the movie will be released on Jio Hotstar, and the platform has teased the audience with a post saying, “The beginning of a new universe. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra — coming soon.” The film will reportedly released on October 17.
The film is directed and scripted by Dominic Arun and is produced by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films banner. The cast also includes Naslen, Chandu Salim Kumar, Arun Kurian, and Sandy Master. The music is composed by Jakes Bejoy.
The movie, which was released on August 28, gained a lot of positive feedback. The film had strong performance not only in the Malayalam-speaking audience but also in the Telugu and Tamil-speaking markets.
The story revolves around Chandra, played by Kalyani Priyadarshan, who is a superhero and at the same time, a mythological character whose story is told up to date.
