Renowned Tollywood actor and Padma Shri awardee Kota Srinivasa Rao passed away at the age of 83 in the early hours of Sunday at his residence in Filmnagar, Hyderabad. Known for his remarkable versatility and memorable roles across genres, Rao leaves behind a cinematic legacy that spans over four decades and more than 750 films.

Kota Srinivasa Rao, widely celebrated for his impactful performances as a villain, lead character, and comedian, was a true stalwart of Telugu cinema. His talent transcended language barriers, and he also made his mark in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam cinema.

He is survived by his wife Rukmini and two daughters. His son, Kota Prasad Rao, also an actor, tragically passed away in a road accident in 2010.
