Kaun Banega Crorepati: Salman Khan May Host New Season

Discussions are underway between Bollywood actor Salman Khan and the producers of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) regarding a potential hosting role, possibly succeeding veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan.

According to individuals familiar with the development, negotiations have progressed to a significant stage. The production team is considering Khan as the new face of the long-running quiz show aired on Sony Entertainment Television. This move comes amid reports that Bachchan may step down from the program due to undisclosed personal reasons.

Khan, who has previously helmed TV shows such as Dus Ka Dum and Bigg Boss, is no stranger to the format of interactive, audience-focused programming. His sustained popularity across diverse viewer segments, especially in semi-urban and rural regions, is believed to be a major factor influencing the discussions.

“Salman Khan’s widespread appeal and familiarity with the medium make him a strong contender. If finalised, this transition could mark a significant change in the show’s presentation,” a source close to the matter was quoted as saying.

This would not be the first time Kaun Banega Crorepati has seen a new host. In the past, Shah Rukh Khan took over for a season, although Bachchan eventually returned to the show that has been synonymous with his name for more than two decades.

Contractual details, including remuneration and schedule alignment, are currently being negotiated. If an agreement is reached, Khan could begin filming later this year.

Simultaneously, the actor is preparing for his upcoming film under the direction of Apoorva Lakhia, with principal photography slated to begin in July. He is also expected to return as host for the next installment of Bigg Boss.

No official confirmation has been issued by either Khan’s representatives or Sony Entertainment at this time.
