After a record-breaking run, Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara: Chapter 1” has finally witnessed a slowdown at the box office. Despite maintaining steady collections for nearly a month, the period action drama has missed the ₹600 crore mark by a small margin, as per early estimates.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Kantara: Chapter 1 earned around ₹2.50 crore on Day 28 (Wednesday, October 29), bringing its total domestic collection to ₹599.15 crore.
The occupancy rates stood at 11.44% in Kannada, 8.79% in Telugu, 13.37% in Hindi, and 17.39% in Tamil, reflecting a slowdown compared to previous weeks.
The film, which had earlier emerged as one of the biggest pan-India blockbusters of 2025, now stands as the 43rd highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
📺 Kantara Chapter 1 OTT Release Date
Fans who missed the theatrical experience won’t have to wait long — Kantara: Chapter 1 is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 31.
The streaming platform made the announcement earlier this week, writing,
“Get ready to witness the LEGENDary adventure of Berme 🔥 — #KantaraALegendChapter1OnPrime, October 31.”
The OTT version will be available in Kannada, along with Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam dubbed versions. The release trailer, shared by the makers, teases a fierce battle sequence led by Rishab Shetty’s character, Berme.
🎥 Atlee Praises Rishab Shetty’s Vision
Filmmaker Atlee, known for hits like Jawan and Theri, lauded Rishab Shetty for his exceptional storytelling and direction.
In an interview with India Today, Atlee said he went out of his way to watch the film while in Amsterdam.
“I drove for two and a half hours to the theatre to watch it on day one. After the screening, I called Rishab immediately — he’s a great friend and an inspiration,” Atlee revealed.
He further added,
“What Rishab has achieved with Kantara Chapter 1 is beyond imagination. It’s incredibly difficult to direct and act in a film of this scale. His rhythm and emotional depth are truly remarkable.”
