Jaat Advance Bookings Open, Sunny Deol’s Comeback Film Eyes Big

Actor Sunny Deol is returning to the big screen with the multilingual film "Jaat," produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Scheduled for theatrical release on April 10, the film has opened its advance booking, signaling a positive response from moviegoers nationwide.
According to early trade estimates shared by Sacknilk, "Jaat" has registered day-one advance bookings of Rs 30.68 lakh across India. Including block bookings, the film's total pre-release business stands at Rs 1.07 crore.
The cast features a large ensemble including Regina Cassandra, Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, Zarina Wahab, Ayesha Khan, Bandhavi Sridhar, Vishika Kota, Praneeta Patnaik, Doulath Sulthana, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ajay Ghosh, Dayanand Shetty, Jagapati Babu, and Babloo Prithiveeraj.
Deol, 67, was last seen in the 2023 blockbuster "Gadar 2," which earned Rs 625.54 crore domestically. Following the success of that project, the actor confirmed receiving a surge of offers. During the News18 Rising Bharat Summit, Deol stated his continued interest in acting, highlighting that age does not define his aspirations.
The actor shared insights on why he chose to partner with a South Indian production house instead of Bollywood. He referenced the aftermath of his earlier success with "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" in 2001, saying the immense popularity at the time limited future opportunities. With the success of its sequel, he noted that new doors have opened.
Deol revealed that representatives from Mythri Movie Makers approached him personally, expressing strong interest in casting him. Discussions reportedly began after an informal meeting at an airport.
Speaking about "Jaat," the actor clarified that the storyline is not derived from any previous work. It is an original script developed by director Gopichand. He assured that the tone and themes seen in the trailer accurately reflect the full-length film.
The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. With a star-studded lineup and wide linguistic reach, "Jaat" is expected to draw significant attention across multiple regions.
Deol's reentry into cinema with "Jaat" follows a strong legacy, including the global success of "Gadar 2," which grossed over Rs 691 crore worldwide.
