Hyderabad- The city observed India MS Day at Hotel Vivanta at Begumpet on Sunday, featuring the launch of the first-ever book by non-MS professional Ms. Farida Raj. Titled "Unbreakable Spirit— Navigating Life with MS," the book was inaugurated by notable figures including Mr Durga Prasad, former DGP of CRPF, Raunaq Yar Khan, and Mrs Meena Gupta, Founder and Chairperson of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India.
Renowned Neurologist Dr Sudhir Kumar, speaking at the event, emphasized that MS patients should no longer be labelled but recognized as "Most Special patients." The event highlighted the pressing need for insurance coverage for MS patients, with Meena Gupta advocating the theme for this year's MS Day as #InsureMyMS.
The book, priced at Rs 249 and available on Amazon, aims to raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. Farida Raj, the author, shared insights into the challenges faced by those living with MS, providing a holistic perspective on its impact on various life stages and relationships.
Dr. Sudhir Kumar, participating in a panel discussion, emphasized the comprehensive approach to MS treatment beyond medication, applauding the book for shedding light on aspects not commonly addressed in neurological literature.
