Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 Becomes 6th Biggest Hindi Grosser of 2025, Beats Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par

Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani’s action entertainer War 2 has stormed the box office, emerging as the 6th biggest Hindi grosser of 2025. The film has collected ₹167.4 crore in Hindi, surpassing Aamir Khan’s comeback movie Sitaare Zameen Par (₹166.19 crore).

Box Office Journey

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 opened with ₹29 crore on Day 1 and registered a strong ₹45 crore on Day 2. By the end of its opening week, the Hindi version had earned ₹150.4 crore. The second weekend also saw steady footfalls, adding another ₹17 crore in four days, pushing it past Aamir Khan’s total.

Across all languages, the film has amassed an impressive ₹224.25 crore in India within 12 days of release.

Part of YRF Spy Universe

War 2 marks the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3.

The franchise will continue with Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail, starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, slated for a Christmas 2025 release. Interestingly, the film may face a box office clash with Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s untitled romantic drama directed by Anurag Basu.

This Friday, War 2 will face fresh competition from Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s Param Sundari. With strong word of mouth and momentum, it remains to be seen whether Hrithik’s spy thriller continues its winning streak.
