Rebel Star Prabhas is set to lead the horror-comedy “The Raja Saab” when it opens in theaters Dec. 5, according to industry sources.

Directed by Maruthi, the film unites a cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar. S.S. Thaman composed the score, and the production features extensive visual effects.

A teaser for “The Raja Saab” is expected to arrive by the end of May, insiders say. Early promotional material, unveiled during Pongal in January, carried the line “Horror is the new humour.”

Originally scheduled for release on April 10 in five languages — Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada — the film was delayed to complete post-production.

The story centers on a royal heir who confronts an ancient curse and navigates action sequences set in palaces and modern environments. Production teams built expansive sets and employed digital effects to support the narrative.

Prabhas recorded the motion poster earlier this year. The actor’s new look and the film’s premise generated discussion on social media platforms.

Producers have yet to issue a formal announcement. Observers expect an official date confirmation soon, followed by a full trailer and ticket booking launch.

“The Raja Saab” marks the next major release for Prabhas, who topped box office charts with earlier blockbusters. The December opening positions the film against year-end competition and holiday audiences.
