Has the Blake Lively–Justin Baldoni Feud Impacted Ryan Reynolds’ Business? Actor Responds: ‘None of Us Are Defined…’
As tensions continue to rise between It Ends With Us stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, Ryan Reynolds has found himself unexpectedly drawn into the controversy. While Lively and Baldoni reportedly clashed over alleged inappropriate behavior and creative disagreements during production, Reynolds—who had minimal involvement in the project—has been navigating the fallout, particularly regarding his personal and professional reputation.
Rumors have swirled over whether the public feud has negatively impacted Reynolds’ growing portfolio of business ventures. However, in a recent interview with TIME 100, the Deadpool star shut down the speculation and addressed the broader implications of being caught in the crossfire.
Reynolds made it clear that the noise surrounding the feud has little influence on his work. "I can read something that says, ‘He should be drawn and quartered.’ I could read something that says I should win a Nobel Prize. Both are meaningless," he said, brushing aside both praise and criticism as equally irrelevant to his self-worth.
The 48-year-old actor also emphasized that he doesn’t allow moments—good or bad—to define him. “None of us are comprised of our best moments. None of us are defined by our worst moments. We are something in the middle,” he said, hinting at his desire to move past the ongoing legal tensions without getting personally entangled.
Reynolds’ involvement in the film became a topic of discussion when Blake Lively revealed that he had offered creative input on a few scenes in the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel. While some praised his support, others criticized his behind-the-scenes role as overstepping. Yet Reynolds remains unfazed, focusing instead on maintaining transparency and values.
He added, “If you operate with some degree of core values and integrity, they’re going to help you up. If you’re an a--hole, they’re not. And that’s pretty simple.”
While the feud between Lively and Baldoni continues to play out publicly and legally, Reynolds is looking ahead. He’s set to return to the big screen with Animal Friends in 2026, seemingly undeterred by the drama that has surrounded his household.
