Hari Hara, a high-profile period action movie starring Pawan Kalyan Veera Mallu had a highly anticipated and spectacular debut at the beginning of its theatrical run. Yet, the movie is having trouble keeping up with demand and is seeing a sharp drop in box office receipts just six days after its premiere.
Sacnilk, a trade tracking portal, reports that the Telugu version of the movie brought in ₹12.75 crore on Wednesday, the day of its early release. It had a great start as the total collection surged to ₹34.75 crore across all languages on its official Day 1 (Thursday). However, the film's visual effects and uneven narrative were criticised in negative reviews, which caused ticket sales to decline.
Weekend Temporary Boost Fades Fast
After earning ₹8 crore on Friday, Hari Hara Veera Mallu saw a weekend increase in revenue of ₹9.15 crore on Saturday and ₹10.6 crore on Sunday. Nevertheless, the impetus was lost. A lack of significant word-of-mouth support was shown by Monday's collection, which fell to ₹2.32 crore.
In addition to Pawan Kalyan, the film had generated excitement prior to its release and starred Nidhhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, Jisshu Sengupta, Sunil Varma, and Sathyaraj. The audience's reaction, however, has been ambivalent since the publication. Interest waned as a result of numerous critiques that emphasised the VFX's poor quality and disappointing results.
All eyes are on the second week.
The film has made ₹77.57 crore in six days across all versions (mostly Telugu), and its success in the second week will determine its future. The dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada have made relatively little money overall.
The key question is still whether Hari Hara Veera Mallu can break even, as industry observers watch to see if it can bounce back or continue its downward trajectory.
