Farzi 2 coming on December; Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi to begin shooting

The hit Amazon Prime Video web series Farzi, which marked Shahid Kapoor’s OTT debut, is officially gearing up for a much-awaited second season. According to recent reports, filming for Farzi 2 is set to begin in December 2025.

Alongside Kapoor, the sequel will once again feature Vijay Sethupathi and Raashii Khanna in lead roles. The show’s creators, the acclaimed duo Raj & DK — known for The Family Man and Guns & Gulaabs — will return to helm the project.

Released in early 2023, Farzi became the most-watched Hindi web series on Amazon Prime Video that year, with over 37.1 million views. The gripping crime thriller followed artist-turned-counterfeiter Sunny (Shahid Kapoor) and his tense cat-and-mouse game with Michael (Vijay Sethupathi), head of the Counterfeiting & Currency Fraud Analysis & Research Team (CCFART). The first season ended with a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving fans eager for more.

While Farzi 2 was reportedly in the scripting stage last year, fresh updates reveal that Raj & DK, currently working on Rakht Brahmand, will dive into the pre-production of Farzi 2 immediately after. Pinkvilla reported that the sequel is targeting a release in the latter half of 2026.

Mid-Day quoted a source saying, “Raj & DK have already discussed the basic plotline with Shahid Kapoor. This time, the sequel promises a fiery showdown between Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kay Kay Menon.”

The ensemble cast will continue to feature Raashii Khanna, Bhuvan Arora, Zakir Hussain, Amol Palekar, Kubbra Sait, and Regina Cassandra.
