Janhvi Kapoor triggered social media buzz when she liked an Instagram Reel which asserted Madhuri Dixit received an award for her "vulgar step" in a song yet ignored Sridevi’s performance in Khuda Gawah.

The roll presented Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi's performances together to emphasize their different work styles.

The video showcases Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit performing her iconic dance routine from Beta with text stating “Madhuri in Beta - Did vulgar step song and did nothing in the movie but won Filmfare Best Actress award”.

The other segment of the reel displays Sridevi delivering an emotional speech from Khuda Gawah which premiered in 1992. The film featured text that said Sridevi's double role and exceptional performance drove the entire movie yet she did not receive a Filmfare Best Actress nomination.

The two films came to theaters within a few months of each other during 1992, with Beta starring Madhuri Dixit debuting on April 3 and Sridevi's movie premiering on May 8.

Fans are debating after a screenshot of Janhvi's like on the reel appeared on social media platforms such as Reddit. Sridevi has been overlooked before! Her career features numerous powerful award-winning performances.

The comment section features debates where some users praise Madhuri's performances while others claim Sridevi did not receive enough recognition.

Sridevi received no award recognition for her remarkable performances in Laadla, Gumrah, Judaai, and English Vinglish while she also lost chances to win for Mr. India and Nagina because Filmfare events were canceled in 1986 and 1987. One fan shared, “Are we really surprised? Bollywood is about dance and dazzling looks. The industry does not value acting skills or talent.
