She shared the joyous announcement of her engagement to her long-time boyfriend, Milind Chandwani, on Instagram this Wednesday. The couple has been together for over five years, with Avika first introducing Milind to the public in November 2020.

She revealed that Milind, an IIM graduate, is a "9-5 corporate guy who also runs an NGO," and importantly, he's "not from the industry." Their paths crossed through a mutual friend in Hyderabad.

Interestingly, Avika confessed that she was smitten from day one, while Milind initially "friend-zoned" her for six months. "I started liking him since day one. I was very sure about him. When you know, you know…" she shared. With a laugh, she added, "Mere haath mein hota toh main saadhe chaar saal pehle shaadi kar chuki hoti. Kuch sochna nahin tha. Ab jo hai yahi hai. Mere dimaag mein toh ho chuki hai shaadi (If it were up to me, I would have gotten married four and a half years ago. There was no second thought about it. This is it. I am married to him in my mind)."

However, Milind, being the more pragmatic of the two, encouraged her to take her time, telling her, "You’re still 26 and I am 32. You take your time to work and see life."
