In a major development in the Disha Patani house firing case, two accused men were killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) during a joint operation with the Delhi Police.
The accused, identified as Ravinda alias Kullu and Arun, were members of the Goldy Brar–Rohit Godara gang, police confirmed. The encounter took place in Ghaziabad, where both suspects sustained fatal injuries.
The Bareilly Firing Incident
On Friday evening, two bike-borne assailants allegedly fired seven rounds outside the Civil Lines residence in Bareilly where Disha Patani’s family lives. The actor was not present at the time, but her father Jagdish Patani (a retired DSP of UP Police), her mother Padma, and siblings Khushboo and Suryansh were inside the house when the attack occurred.
Following the firing, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally called Jagdish Patani, assuring him of strict action and enhanced security for the family.
Possible Motive Linked To Controversy
Police sources suggest the firing could be linked to a July controversy involving Khushboo Patani, a retired Army major and wellness coach. She had criticised ‘katha vachak’ Aniruddh Acharya for a “misogynist” remark, which was later misinterpreted as a comment against Vrindavan-based seer Premanand Maharaj.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities treating the incident as part of a larger gang intimidation and extortion network.
