Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 1: Ranveer Singh’s Biggest Opener Yet, but Still Behind Chhaava
Dhurandhar box office collection day 1: Ranveer Singh’s action drama opens at ₹27 crore, marking the biggest opening of his career. However, the film trails behind Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava and the year’s top opener War 2.
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar records a powerful ₹27 crore opening, becoming the highest day-one grosser of his career.

Aditya Dhar’s much-anticipated action film Dhurandhar has kicked off with a solid performance at the box office. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the Ranveer Singh-starrer collected ₹27 crore on its opening day, surpassing all previous first-day numbers in the actor’s career.
The film’s strong start comes as a pleasant surprise, especially since trade projections until Thursday suggested an opening in the ₹15 crore range. Positive word-of-mouth, star power and heavy pre-release buzz appear to have pushed the film toward a bumper weekend ahead.
However, despite the impressive opening, Dhurandhar remains behind the year’s top performers. Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava opened at ₹31 crore, and Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR’s War 2 leads the chart with a massive ₹52 crore opening, including ₹29 crore from its Hindi version alone.
For Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar marks a new personal milestone. His previous biggest opener, Simmba (2018), earned around ₹20 crore on day one, while his last lead role in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani started at ₹11.1 crore and went on to surpass ₹153 crore domestically.
Dhurandhar released across 6,200 screens in India, recording an overall 34% occupancy on day one. The film witnessed a slow start in the morning and afternoon shows, but saw a strong turnaround with 36% evening occupancy and 56% in night shows, indicating rising audience interest.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features a powerful ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan.
