Ranveer Singh’s spy thriller Dhurandhar records a strong opening as box office collections cross ₹18 crore on Day 1.

Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead, has gotten off to a very good start at the box office and is now the best opening movie of the actor during the pandemic for the duration of the week.
Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar has had a very eventful advertising journey, starting with a record-breaking trailer and going through the ups and downs of advance bookings. The movie that opened to less than 16% morning occupancy has seen sharp increase throughout the day due to the good reviews and the buzz on social media leading to more people coming to watch.
The movie was released on 5,000 screens in India and it was able to get good afternoon and evening shows with the occupancy reaching over 28%.
Dhurandhar’s early estimates from Sacnilk state that the film earned ₹18.88 crore net by 7 pm which means it is well on the way to crossing the ₹20 crore mark at the close of Day 1. This performance not only exceeds the industry's estimated figures of ₹15–18 crore but also marks a very good start for action drama Ranveer Singh.
Pandemic Era Best Opening of Ranveer Singh
The opening of Dhurandhar has now left behind Ranveer's first day figures:
83 – ₹12.64 crore
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani – ₹11.10 crore
Though the film might not reach Saiyaara (₹21.50 crore) but it does have a long way to go before catching up with the huge opening of Chhaava (₹31 crore). Nevertheless, it has already made a power-packed entry for the actor in 2025.
