Demon Slayer: No Yaiba Kimetsu Even before its release in the United States, Infinity Castle is already causing a stir at the box office around the world. According to industry sources, the eagerly awaited anime movie, which is based on the popular manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, has sold almost $10 million worth of advance tickets at major U.S. theatre chains like AMC, Regal, and Cinemark.

Breaking Sales Records

Infinity Castle's ticket sales, which started on Friday, have already surpassed previous records for anime films. Demon Slayer: Mugen Train (2021) and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2022) were the previous record holders, but Fandango confirmed it was the largest first-day presale ever for an anime film.

For comparison, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 began with $18M domestically, while Mugen Train opened with $21.2M. When Infinity Castle makes its North American premiere, these figures might be matched or even surpassed given the robust presales.

Details of the US Release

Although the movie's official release date is September 12, 2025, Crunchyroll's Mega and Ultimate Fan subscribers will be able to see early screenings on September 9. IMAX and premium large format (PLF) screenings will be among them. However, analysts caution that the anime’s box office may be frontloaded due to its passionate fanbase that tends to show up early in droves.

Worldwide Box Office Thus Far

With $193 million in international revenue, 75% of which came from Japan alone, Infinity Castle is already a global powerhouse. Last weekend, the movie made $17.5 million in eight Southeast Asian markets, setting a new record for the region's highest animated opening. In those areas, it even performed better than Moana 2, Inside Out 2, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Frozen II.

What's the hype about?

The last battle arc of Demon Slayer begins with this film. In their final confrontation with Muzan Kibutsuji, Tanjiro, Nezuko, and the Hashira enter the enigmatic Infinity Castle and battle Upper Rank demons. The first of a planned trilogy that will wrap up the popular franchise, it was animated by the renowned ufotable studio.

Legacy of Demon Slayer

Mugen Train still holds the crown as the highest-grossing Japanese anime film worldwide, earning more than half a billion dollars globally and ranking second in U.S. anime box office history. With the massive hype and presales surrounding Infinity Castle, industry watchers believe it could challenge some of those long-standing records.

Jerramy Hainline, EVP of Fandango, expressed excitement:

“The overwhelming response is a true testament to the power of the anime community. We’re proud to help bring Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle to theaters so fans can experience it on the big screen.”

Language Versions

The movie will screen in both Japanese with English subtitles and English-dubbed formats, catering to a wide audience of anime fans.
