Deepika Padukone Reflects on Life After Baby Dua: ‘Learning to Navigate This Beautiful Chaos’

Actress Deepika Padukone was born her first baby with her spouse Ranveer Singh in September 2024, has shared her thoughts about the challenges of motherhood. She revealed that she's learning to adjust to her new role, and trying to figure out how she will manage how to live with her newborn daughter Dua.

Deepika and Shah Rukh Khan, took part in a discussion on the opening Day of the WAVES 2025 held in Mumbai in Mumbai on the Thursday. In the course, Deepika spoke about how her life has changed after becoming a mom.

In her reflection on the way the way she lives has shifted since being a mom, Deepika said, "I'm experiencing a new way of life after embracing motherhood. Once you've had the joy of having a child, you're accountable to an individual human being. And especially the way in which I've lived my own life. it's been all about me. I've left home, my goals in my work and everything was about me and what I desired to have for myself. Now you're taking care of the person who's dependent upon you to provide everything".

In the course of the interview, Shah Rukh added that he believes she'll be a "wonderful mother of her son Dua and Ranveer Singh. He stated, "I just want to add one thing which is extremely personal and I'm sorry for stepping outside of the limits. However, I believe the part she'll be playing the most, Inshallah, is that of a mother, now with Dua. I think she's going to be a fantastic mother."

Ranveer and Deepika take on parenthood

Deepika along with Ranveer were blessed with their first child on the 8th of September 2024. The couple got married in the year 2018. The year before Diwali they welcomed their baby girl to the world. They revealed her name: Padukone Dua Singh. The couple also wrote a an important message. The couple wrote "Dua means prayer. Because she has the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are full of gratitude and love."
