The action-packed entertainer features an ensemble cast including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and a special appearance by Bollywood icon Aamir Khan.
Nagarjuna Confirms Face-Off With Rajinikanth
In a recent interview, Nagarjuna Akkineni revealed that he plays the primary antagonist opposite Rajinikanth in Coolie. “This was a fun experience because of how different it is from what I've done so far. Being the main antagonist, I had many scenes with Rajinikanth sir… it’s him against me,” Nagarjuna shared, confirming the high-voltage clash fans have been eagerly speculating about.
Aamir Khan’s Role: No Scenes With Nagarjuna
While Aamir Khan also features in Coolie, Nagarjuna clarified that their characters do not cross paths on screen. “Aamir Khan and I don't have scenes together. We have two different chapters in the film. But I saw his work afterwards—his performance is brilliant. You'll see a new Aamir and be shocked,” Nagarjuna revealed.
How Nagarjuna Was Convinced by Lokesh Kanagaraj
Nagarjuna also spoke about how Lokesh Kanagaraj had doubts about casting him as a villain, but the compelling script won him over. “Lokesh told me it was okay if I didn’t like the script—we could just have a cup of tea and chat. But halfway through his narration, I was hooked. I made him return 6-7 times to hear it again,” the actor recounted.
With high expectations and a stellar cast, Coolie is all set to be a blockbuster when it hits theaters on Independence Day weekend.
