Hyderabad: In a significant development underscoring the government's commitment to excellence, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy graced the felicitation ceremony of Padma Awardees at Shilpakalavedika. The event, held this Sunday, aimed not only to applaud the remarkable achievements of the awardees but also to establish a non-political tradition of recognition for outstanding contributions in various fields.

In his address, the CM reiterated the government's conscientious approach to honouring Padma Awardees. The felicitation, he emphasized, is a testament to the state's recognition of the responsibility involved in acknowledging individuals who have made exceptional contributions to society. The event sought to set a precedent for future acknowledgements, emphasizing the importance of appreciating excellence beyond political affiliations.

A distinctive aspect of the ceremony was its inclusive nature, transcending geographical boundaries. Chief Minister Reddy underscored that the felicitation of Padma Awardees is not confined to regional or political considerations but celebrates the achievements of Telugu people across the globe. The program aimed to foster a sense of unity among the Telugu diaspora, irrespective of their current place of residence.

Highlighting the tangible appreciation for the awardees, the government announced a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakh to be presented to each Padma Awardee. This gesture not only acknowledges their significant contributions but also serves as a token of gratitude from the state.

Furthermore, recognizing the invaluable contributions of Padma award-winning poets and artists, the state government pledged a monthly pension of Rs. 25,000 for their sustained efforts. This dual approach of immediate financial recognition and long-term support underscores the government's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for artistic and cultural endeavours.

Revanth Reddy used the occasion to call upon the citizens to unite for the preservation of Telugu culture and traditions. The collective effort, he stressed, is essential in safeguarding the rich heritage of the Telugu-speaking community, emphasizing the cultural significance that binds the community together.

In a forward-looking statement, he expressed optimism regarding the potential elevation of Venkaiah Naidu to the post of India's President. This hopeful anticipation stems from the belief that such leadership would not only contribute to the national landscape but also serve as a source of inspiration and pride for the Telugu community.

The felicitation ceremony of Padma Awardees stands as a testament to the government's commitment to recognizing and appreciating excellence while fostering a sense of unity and pride among the Telugu-speaking populace, both within the state and across the globe.
