Celebrity MasterChef winner Gaurav Khanna opens up about Tejasswi fan wars

The inaugural season of Celebrity MasterChef has wrapped up, but the buzz around the show refuses to die down. With fans still sharing viral clips and memorable moments, it’s clear this season has made a lasting impact.

Actor Gaurav Khanna emerged as the proud winner, taking home the prestigious Chef’s coat, trophy, and a cash prize of ₹20 lakh. Judged by culinary stalwarts Chef Vikas Khanna and Chef Ranveer Brar, and hosted by Farah Khan, the show also saw strong competition from Nikki Tamboli (first runner-up) and Tejasswi Prakash (second runner-up). Other finalists included Faisal Shaikh aka Mr. Faisu and Rajiv Adatia.

While Gaurav’s win was widely celebrated, some fans expressed disappointment over Tejasswi not making it to the top two, sparking intense fan wars online. Addressing the noise, Gaurav shared in an exclusive chat with BollywoodLife, “Let them be. Tejasswi and I have no issues. We’ve known each other for nearly a decade. I often tease her, saying, ‘Teja, I knew you when you were Tejasswi. Look at how far you’ve come!’ She’s done exceptionally well and is immensely popular.”

Gaurav revealed a fun side of their friendship, recalling how he used to affectionately call Tejasswi a “tomboy.” “She was like one of my guy friends,” he laughed. “We’ve had great fun on the show. Some people tried to spin stories of rivalry, but we’ve laughed those off. We've both been around long enough not to be bothered by such talk.”

He also spoke warmly about his bond with Tejasswi’s partner, Karan Kundrra. “Karan’s a dear friend too. During the finale, he came up and said, ‘Bhai, Kanpur kya, pura Punjab tere saath hai!’ It was heartwarming.”

Putting all speculations to rest, Gaurav emphasized that the camaraderie among contestants was genuine and full of mutual respect. “Tejasswi is a wonderful person and an excellent cook. I’m happy for her and everyone else.”
