Baaghi 4, starring Tiger Shroff, faced heavy censorship as the CBFC ordered 23 cuts, even after granting it an A-certificate.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has directed 23 cuts in Tiger Shroff’s much-awaited action thriller Baaghi 4. Despite receiving an A-rating, the film’s visuals and dialogues were trimmed, significantly reducing its runtime.
What Did CBFC Remove?
According to reports, the Examining Committee objected to several violent, religiously sensitive, and explicit scenes. Among the deletions:
- A shot of the hero standing on a coffin.
- A scene showing a cigarette lit from an amputated hand.
- Frontal nudity, which was digitally hidden.
- A knife being thrown at a statue of Jesus Christ.
- Graphic sword fights involving throats being slit and skull piercings.
- Excessive gore in an 11-second sequence.
Additionally, intimate gestures like a character rubbing a girl’s hip were modified.
Audio Cuts Ordered
The CBFC also flagged several dialogues:
- The slang “bhang ba” and **“b*e” were replaced with milder terms.
- The word “condom” in a dialogue was muted.
- Lines such as “Tera wajood hi mit jaayega God” were replaced with toned-down alternatives.
- Other abusive phrases were muted or deleted entirely.
- Runtime Before and After Cuts
Initially, Baaghi 4 ran for 2 hours, 43 minutes (163.5 minutes). After CBFC’s intervention and further voluntary trimming by the filmmakers, the final runtime now stands at 2 hours, 37 minutes (157 minutes).
