BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung, has purchased a high-end residence in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul. According to Sportschosun.com, citing a certified real estate register, the transaction was completed on September 17. The purchase follows a few months after V’s discharge from military service.
The penthouse spans 273.96 square meters and is valued at 14.2 billion won (approximately Rs 89.8 crore). The property includes five rooms and three bathrooms. The real estate record indicates no collateral or mortgage was established, suggesting a full cash purchase. V reportedly signed the purchase agreement in May, roughly one month before leaving the military, with ownership transferring after final payment this month.
The building, Penthouse Cheongdam (PH 129), accommodates 29 units across six basement floors and 20 floors above ground, according to Hdec.kr. The living room features a panoramic window measuring six meters in height and 11 meters in width, offering views of the Han River. Elevated floors in the master bedroom and dining area reach 6.6 meters. The top-floor units include private rooftop pools. PH 129 is certified as a special-grade earthquake-resistant structure and provides smart security, privacy measures, and 5.1 parking spaces per unit.
The complex houses several notable residents, including actors Jang Dong-gun and Ko So-young, golfer Park In-bee, and instructor Hyun Woo-jin.
V previously purchased a $4.5 million apartment in 2018. Currently, he is working with the other BTS members—Namjoon, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook—on their first full album in four years. Production began in the United States in July, with the album scheduled for release next spring. This record will mark BTS’ first full-group release since Proof in 2022.
