BTS leader RM pens a heartfelt letter to ARMY from Los Angeles, sharing reflections on life and the group’s upcoming 2026 album.

BTS leader RM has once again touched the hearts of ARMY with a deeply emotional letter. Just months after completing his military service, the rapper and songwriter opened up about his life in Los Angeles, his reflections on time, and the group’s highly anticipated upcoming album.
RM’s Candid Summer Letter
On Friday, RM shared a handwritten note on Weverse, expressing his thoughts about adjusting to life post-military and his time in LA with fellow members.
“It’s already been a little over two months since I was discharged. I’m living far away in Los Angeles, working, living, and playing together with the members. It’s truly a strange experience… like stepping into something unfamiliar,” he wrote.
The BTS leader described his daily routine, which includes working out, heading to the studio, and quiet evenings spent reflecting on the past, present, and future. “I’m neither fully laughing nor crying, just running forward day by day,” RM shared, adding his musings about the nature of identity and how BTS itself feels like an ever-changing “species of different colours.”
Update on BTS’s New Album
Addressing fans’ excitement, RM also gave a glimpse into BTS’s creative process for their upcoming album, slated for release in March 2026. “As for what our next album will become, I’m still figuring it out myself. But I’m hoping that the moments we’ve shared here in this faraway place will turn into some kind of beauty—something I had forgotten for too long,” he revealed.
Ending his heartfelt message with warmth for ARMY, RM wrote, “What color are you right now? I miss you… When we meet again, it’ll feel like it was never that long. I’ll be flying to you soon. Until then, I’ll do my very best. I love you.”
BTS’s Journey Ahead
With all seven members now discharged from their military duties, BTS is officially working together again. Their upcoming group album, expected in spring 2026, marks one of the most anticipated comebacks in K-pop history. Fans around the world eagerly await the next chapter of Bangtan, a group RM beautifully described as “a species of different colours.”
