On its fifth day (Tuesday), Brad Pitt's most recent sports thriller F1 is generating an estimated ₹4.18 crore at the Indian box office, indicating fresh momentum. This raises the movie's five-day total domestic receipts to about ₹28.93 crore.

F1, which was directed by Joseph Kosinski, who is best known for Top Gun: Maverick, had a spectacular opening weekend, earning ₹21.4 crore, even though it was up against fierce competition from recently released Indian films including the South Indian mythological drama Kannappa and the Hindi horror movie Maa.

The movie recovered on Tuesday, despite a sharp decline in Monday's earnings of ₹3.35 crore, which is indicative of good word-of-mouth and audience retention. The movie is sustaining its popularity during the week, according to analysts, thanks to recurring audiences and interest from motorsport enthusiasts.

In the action-packed drama, Brad Pitt co-stars with Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, and Javier Bardem. Formula 1 icon Lewis Hamilton, who is also a co-producer, makes a surprise appearance. Both racing fans and casual audiences are responding well to Formula One, which is praised for its accurate portrayal of the racing world, captivating track sequences, and excellent production value.

Formula One is expected to surpass the ₹30 crore milestone with two days remaining in its first week. In the upcoming weeks, it might aim for the ₹50 crore milestone if present trends continue.

The movie's performance demonstrates India's increasing interest in globally relevant Hollywood material, particularly when supported by A-list celebrities and spectacular filmmaking. All eyes will be on Formula One as it concludes its debut week and determines its long-term box office destiny.
