This week’s box office performance across Bollywood, South Indian cinema, and Hollywood has been a mixed bag. While some films showed steady growth, others experienced a drop in collections. Kajol’s ‘Maa’ and Brad Pitt’s Hollywood sports drama ‘F1’ have held their ground well, whereas Vishnu Manchu’s ‘Kannappa’ and the star-studded ‘Kuberaa’ saw declines.
Maa:
Kajol’s film ‘Maa’ had an impressive start, drawing strong audiences during its opening weekend. However, momentum has slowed down as the week progressed. On Wednesday, the film earned just ₹1.75 crore, bringing its total collection to ₹24.90 crore against an estimated budget of ₹65 crore.
Kannappa:
Vishnu Manchu’s mythological drama ‘Kannappa’ featured big names like Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Prabhas, raising expectations. Despite this, the film has managed only ₹28.65 crore in five days. Its Wednesday earnings dipped to ₹1.15 crore from ₹1.75 crore the previous day.
F1:
Brad Pitt’s ‘F1’ continues to dominate the Indian box office among Hollywood releases. With ₹3.75 crore earned on Tuesday and ₹3.50 crore on Wednesday, the sports drama has crossed ₹32 crore in six days—a commendable feat for a Hollywood film in India.
Sitare Zameen Par:
Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ remains the highest-grossing film this week with a total collection of ₹132.90 crore. Though Wednesday saw a dip with ₹2.75 crore earned, the film maintained strong weekend earnings.
Kuberaa:
Despite a blockbuster opening day of ₹14.75 crore, ‘Kuberaa’ starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, has struggled to sustain its box office appeal. Collections fell sharply to ₹1 crore on Tuesday and further to ₹80 lakh on Wednesday, totaling ₹83.55 crore so far.
