Bigg Boss 19 Winner Shock: Gaurav Khanna Beats Farrhana Bhatt!

Bigg Boss' season nineteen came to an end late on Sunday night with Gaurav Khanna, a television actor, being the winner after more than a month of a rollercoaster ride inside the house. The finale episode, presented by Salman Khan, went live on JioHotstar at 9 p.m. and afterwards, Colors TV showed it at 10:30 p.m.

The last episode featured Khan's entrance with a signature style, this time to Mera Hi Jalwa song. Already by then, the voting had closed at 10 a.m. on December 7 and the 5 finalists — Farrhana Bhatt, Tanya Mittal, Amaal Mallik, Gaurav Khanna, and Pranit More — had made an entire week of frantic appeals by their fans.

The first act before the winner was announced was that of—previously eliminated—contestants returning to the stage and giving brief performances. The celebration was intermixed by the appearances of Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday who were there to promote their upcoming movie Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri along with Sunny Leone and Karan Kundrra from Splitsvilla 16.

The competition intensified as the eliminations were taking place throughout the evening.

In the end, Amaal Mallik was the one who got evicted first at No. 5.

Pranit More, along with conflicting news about Tanya Mittal, were occupying the middle ranking slots.

Gaurav Khanna and Farrhana Bhatt were the only ones left now.

Both finalists went to the living room to turn off the lights before coming out for the announcement—a clip that viewers immediately grabbed and shared on social media platforms.

At 11:47 p.m., Khanna was declared the winner of the season and received the prize money of ₹50 lakh while the other contestants ran to him to give their congratulations. Farrhana Bhatt became the second best.

Amaal Mallik commented on Khanna’s victory stating that the TV actor “acted his part by being steady and consistent” and adding that every participant in the house has their unique way to do things.

Pranit More called the win “well earned,” recognizing Khanna’s strong backing and his mostly calm attitude on the show.

Farrhana Bhatt, who finished in the second position, claimed that Khanna’s fans “brought him up all the way.”

Khanna, who was initially criticized and compared with earlier winner MC Stan, said he wanted to keep it “real on camera, not strategic” when confronting the season.

On the other hand, Bhatt’s fans showed their dissatisfaction on social media and among their posts were those saying the season “belonged to Farrhana.”

Pranit More responded to the speculation regarding his rapport with Malti Chahar, stating that they both had a friendship that was damaged just before her eviction. He also mentioned that they talked again after the last shooting and “things are good now.”

Khanna was on the sets with his wife Akanksha and close friends, including Mridul Tiwari, who were the first to hug him after the trophy announcement, when he left.

Voting was done via the JioHotstar app, where users could cast a maximum of 99 votes for their favorite finalist. The page was very user friendly because it showed the top five with pictures, hence the selection was very easy for users on both Android and iOS.
