Korean drama fans have much to anticipate this September as several new series prepare to debut across major streaming platforms. From suspenseful thrillers to heartwarming romances, the upcoming releases promise diverse storylines and notable performances.

The month opens with ‘My Youth’, premiering on September 5 on Viki and JTBC. The drama features Song Joong-ki as Sun Woo-hae, a former child actor now living a quieter life as a florist and novelist. His routine is disrupted when he encounters his first love, Sung Je-yeon (Chun Woo-hee), leading the duo to revisit their past and explore whether their connection can be reignited.

Also releasing on September 5, ‘Queen Mantis’ streams on Netflix and Viki. This thriller, inspired by the French series ‘La Mante’, follows a detective who collaborates with his incarcerated serial killer mother to catch a new criminal mimicking her crimes. Go Hyun-jung and Jang Dong-yoon headline the series, which combines suspense, mystery, and psychological drama.

‘Confidence Queen’ arrives on September 6 via Prime Video, blending crime and comedy in a story centered on Park Min-young as Yi-rang, a skilled con artist. She teams up with two partners to expose scams and retrieve stolen assets. Viewers can expect clever schemes, unexpected twists, and a high-energy narrative as the trio navigates complex financial and real estate cons.

On September 10, 'Tempest’ premieres on Disney+ (JioHotstar), featuring Hallyu stars Jun Ji-hyun, Gang Dong-won, John Cho, and others. The drama follows Seo Mun-joo, a former diplomat, and Sang-ho, an international special agent, as they uncover the truth behind a mysterious attack threatening peace on the Korean Peninsula. This spy romance combines political intrigue and personal stakes, making it a standout release for the month.

‘You and Everything Else’, debuting on September 12 on Netflix, explores the bond between two friends whose relationship is tested by life circumstances and a terminal illness. Starring Kim Go-eun and Park Ji-hyun, the drama examines loyalty, love, and the emotional complexity of caring for someone in their final days.

Closing the month, ‘The Murky Stream’ premieres on September 26 on Disney+ (JioHotstar). Set in Joseon-era Korea, the historical drama follows a gangster, a righteous merchant, and an ambitious official whose intertwined fates are shaped by corruption and personal ambition. Rowoon, Shin Ye-eun, and Park Seo-ham lead the cast, bringing to life a story of power, skill, and legacy.
